On the UF Campus

At UF, we’re constantly finding ways to be active in the community. But even with a full plate, Gators are always hungry for more – for more chances to get involved and better ways to pursue better.

In addition to College of Dentistry resources and programs, including free tutoring and specialized counseling, DMD students have access to university-level student resources and activities within the greater Gainesville community.

Things to do in Gainesville

Transportation

UF students, faculty, and staff may ride Regional Transit System public transportation fare-free by presenting their Gator 1 card. RTS offers multiple bus routes on campus with service to every area of the university, as well as routes to all points in the City of Gainesville. The TransLoc Gator Locator allows anyone to track buses through the use of GPS technology.

Arts

With minds open to more, our learning isn’t confined to the classroom. UF consistently attracts world-class symphony orchestras, Broadway plays, opera, and large-scale ballet performances. Through a commitment to achieving more and engaging fully, Gators are opening windows to the world.

Recreation & Fitness

With a variety of sports available, Gators are competing to make each other better inside the classroom and out. You can join the racquetball team with your roommate. Challenge a friend to a cornhole tournament. Sign up for sand volleyball or test your agility with some serious dodge ball. All skill levels are welcome and there is no fee to participate. All you need is your Gator 1 Card.

Cultural Opportunities

UF provides a wealth of cultural opportunities to allow students to expand their understanding of different cultures, engage with their own identities and find a home away from home.

Involvement

UF offers involvement opportunities for all students to maximize their university experience. With thousands of events put on annually by student organizations, social sororities and fraternities, and UF Student Government, there is an involvement opportunity for every Gator.

Health & Safety

At UF, we have departments working together across campus to ensure your safety. So you can work hard and rest easy knowing you’re in great hands. We have one of the largest university police forces in the nation and a full-service student health care center. UF takes great pride in providing a caring campus culture – as part of our U Matter We Care commitment. Assistance for students in distress is available seven days a week. On top of that, the UF Counseling and Wellness Center is available to listen and help 24/7.

Success Services

Every student is unique. Our services, programs, and support structures are built with intentional breadth and depth, designed to support our changing student population. Our work is based on research and assessment, allowing us the agility to listen and respond to our students’ needs.
