SCOOPS - Seminar on Community Outreach Opportunities in Public Service
A special shoutout to #GatorDentist alumna Dr. Paayal Bhakta, dental director at ACORN Clinic in Alachua County, who spent an hour at #UFCD this afternoon talking (candidly and with humor!) about her career journey and about her passion — public health dentistry. Our community is lucky to have her, our students are lucky to have such a fantastic mentor, and we are grateful she’s a Gator!

Silver Central Award Winner
Congratulations to D1 Zully Beck, who kicked off the first week of dental school at #UFCD by winning our annual Silver Central Award, AKA "The People's Choice Award," for her maxillary central incisor soap carving. The manual dexterity exercise is required of all incoming students prior to orientation; they then submit photos from all angles for anonymous peer-judging
Safe to say Zully earned the overwhelming majority of votes from her DMD Class of 2027 #GatorDentist fam.
The trophy, presented by Assistant Director of Admissions Abel Gilbert, is hand-crafted each year by our talented Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid, Dr. Pam Sandow ✨
