- UFCD is a public or state school, and therefore, preference is given to residents of the State of Florida. However, we welcome OOS applications!
- While about 10% of each entering class of 93 students can be OOS applicants who accept an offer, many more offers of admission are extended to OOS applicants.
- Successful OOS residents for admission to UFCD are nationally competitive. (See Entering Class Stats to learn about stats that could indicate a competitive application.)
- The ADEA AADSAS application will give OOS residents a chance to describe their ties to Florida, such as, having lived or worked in Florida, having attended a university/college in Florida, relatives living in Florida, plans to move to Florida, etc. Be sure to answer this question, if appropriate.
- For reviewing an application, UFCD will use the state of legal residency listed on the ADEA AADSAS application. For tuition purposes, however, the University of Florida will ultimately determine state residency for tuition purposes based on information provided in the Supplemental/UF Professional Application rather than the residency reported by the applicant on the ADEA AADSAS application.
- Contact the main campus University of Florida Admissions and Registrar offices, NOT UFCD, if you have questions on whether you will be considered a Florida resident for tuition purposes.
- Failure to provide requested documentation may result in OOS resident classification.
- It is possible, but not guaranteed, that an OOS resident may petition and be granted Florida residency for tuition purposes after one full year of living in Florida. See the UF Registrar for documentation considered for state residency determination.
